Reliance Jio has expanded the validity period of its renowned Rs 349 plan and unveiled new recharge options, inclusive of Over-the-Top (OTT) benefits. On Monday, the telecommunications giant revised its widely favored monthly recharge plan and introduced several new plans with extended validity periods and OTT advantages. Specifically, the Rs 349 monthly recharge plan now boasts a 30-day validity instead of the previous 28 days. Additionally, a novel plan priced at Rs 999 now offers 98 days of validity.
Jio’s Rs 349 plan remains the most economical option for accessing the 5G network. Following the latest enhancement, it now provides 2 GB of 4G data per day alongside unlimited calling for 30 days. In comparison, Airtel’s popular monthly plan is priced at Rs 379 and offers 2 GB of 4G data, unlimited 5G data, and a 30-day validity period.
The newly introduced Rs 999 plan isn’t entirely novel; it replaces the previous Rs 1,199 plan. The former plan offered 84 days of validity with 3 GB of 4G data per day, whereas the new Rs 999 plan, being more economical, extends the validity to 98 days, effectively costing Rs 10 per day. However, instead of 3 GB of 4G data, the plan now provides 2 GB of 4G data and unlimited 5G access. This new offering is comparable to Airtel’s Rs 979 plan, which also offers 2 GB of 4G data with 5G access but for a shorter duration of 84 days.
Jio has also introduced a new Rs 949 plan, which offers 84 days of validity, a daily 2 GB limit of 4G data, 5G access, and a complimentary Disney+ Hotstar subscription. Additionally, the Rs 1,049 plan provides 84 days of validity, 2 GB of 4G data plus unlimited 5G data, along with complimentary SonyLIV and Zee5 subscriptions.

Additionally, Jio has rolled out 5G bonus plans priced at Rs 51, 101, and 151, offering unlimited 5G data to users who recharge with plans that provide 1/1.5 GB of 4G data. Although these new plans are not drastically different from existing ones, they extend the validity period, offering better value. For instance, previously, customers had to recharge the Rs 349 plan 13 times annually; with the new benefits, this reduces to 12 recharges per year.
